According to a growing number of doctors and scientists, the answer is “YES”, cancer can be both prevented and reversed on a plant-based diet. Unfortunately, the term “cancer” has become consumed by both fear and the total misconception that chemo, drugs and surgery are the only real cancer cure. Sadly, this has left many people feeling like helpless victims. Well, I’m determined to STOP the confusion by simplifying what cancer actually is and how we can go about preventing it. It’s time to do away with all the unnecessary paranoia out there and start making effective changes in our diet and lifestyle so that cancer never even stands a chance!
Let’s start with the main player in terms of cancer risk factors – DIET. Why? Because what you put in your mouth ultimately becomes the fluid surrounding each and every cell in your body. Once digested, food either gets sent to the blood to nourish and feed your cells or to your lymphatic fluid, your body’s only sewage system that transports all of our cellular waste. Our “sewage” must flow properly to prevent acidosis and disease.
Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Professor Emeritus of Cornell University and author of the groundbreaking The China Study is an authority on nutrition. His is work is often regarded as the definitive epidemiological examination of the relationship between diet and disease. Through a variety of experimental studies, epidemiological evidence, and decades of observation of real life conditions which had rational biological explanation, Dr. Campbell has made a direct and powerful correlation between cancer (as well as other diseases and illnesses) and animal protein. So what’s his conclusion? Animal protein is disastrous to human health:
“Under unhealthy conditions…IGF-1 becomes more active, increasing the birth and growth of new cells while simultaneously inhibiting the removal of old cells, both of which favor the development of cancer.” [7 studies cited] ”…consuming animal-based foods increases the blood levels of this growth hormone, IGF-1.” [3 studies cited]. He also says that “most estimates suggest that not more than 2-3 percent of cancers are due entirely to genes; almost all the rest is due to diet and lifestyle factors. Consuming plant based foods offers the best hope of avoiding cancer, perhaps even reversing cancer once it is diagnosed.”
In order to fully understand the relationship between animal-based protein and cancer, it is important to understand that cancer generally develops over a long period of time and is much determined by the condition inside the body. If the fluids surrounding the cells become too acidic, the acid will begin to damage the cellular structure causing it to mutate, multiply and ultimately result in cancer. This is why all of the acidic foods like animal-based proteins should be avoided and replaced with alkaline-rich plant foods like fruit & vegetables.
The bottom line: Cancer genes are just like seeds that grow into tumor masses only if they are ‘fed’ to do so. The ‘feeding’ comes from poor nutrition choices. Just like growing a lawn, the seeds we plant don’t grow unless they are provided water, sunlight and nutrients. Cancer works the same way. Fortunately, the planting is not what we need to worry about. What matters is that we DO NOT provide our body with a diet that ‘nourishes’ their growth. This means that we can all work to change our exposure to promoting agents, prevent acidosis and reverse the cancer process – it’s all within our control!

1.An acid diet creates acidosis
2.Acidosis is the main reason behind inflammation
3.Acids damage and mutate cells
4.Your lymphatic (sewer) system is your main immune system that helps keep your cells’ acidic wastes from accumulating in and around cells.
5.Acid-forming diets inflame the colon, kidneys, thyroid and skin thus, reducing their ability to filter ones lymphatic system, including the lymph nodes (septic tanks)
6.As one’s lymphatic system backs up, so do cellular, systemic and parasitic wastes.
7.Thus, acidosis/inflammation builds up in many tissues of the body, head to toe. Lymph nodes swell, pimples, boils, abscesses and tumors are formed, etc.

9.The cure is to reverse how you created it.
So what’s so harmful about animal protein like dairy, meat, fish & eggs?
Casein (milk protein) causes many adverse effects: It makes the body more acidic, alters hormones and adversely modifies important enzyme activities.
So how does all this affect our body? It increases its ability to promote cancer growth by increasing hormone growth factors, making the tissues more acidic and damaging the cells. Dairy products also have the ability to increase blood cholesterol and enhance the early stage of cardiovascular disease. The Health Professionals Follow-up Study included 47,781 health care professionals and concluded that men who consumed more than two servings per day of cow’s milk products increased their risk of cancer by 60% more than those who consumed no cow’s milk. Dr. Campbell also notes that all other animal-based proteins tend to have the same effect as milk protein because the amino acid composition of casein is similar to most other animal-based proteins – resulting in acidosis & cellular damage.
Neal D. Barnard, M.D states that “Plant foods are low in fat, high in fiber, and loaded with protective cancer-fighting nutrients. But animal products—meat, dairy, eggs—are linked to several forms of the disease. They contain plenty of fat to harbor cancer-causing chemicals and to drive up the levels of cancer-promoting hormones in your body. They have no fiber that would normally sweep carcinogens from your digestive tract and are low in cancer-fighting antioxidants. Under high temperature, the creatine, amino acids, and natural sugars in meat can actually turn into cancer-causing chemicals.”
While this concept of curing cancer by switching to a plant-based diet may sound too good to be true, it’s almost impossible to deny the power of nutrition over disease. The best part is that even if you’ve consumed a crappy diet earlier on in life, a variety of evidence clearly shows that cancers can still be stopped by removing animal foods from the diet. How awesome is that? We can finally do away with all our crazy fear and anxiety over cancer by simply removing animal foods, and focusing on fresh fruit & leafy green vegetables. At the end of the day, while researchers continue to study the causes of cancer, you may want to trade dairy—and all animal products—for a healthy, vegan diet rich in organic and fresh food. Add to that a raw food diet, regular exercise, fresh air exposure to sunlight along with plenty of water and sleep for best results.
